how get your kids in commercials, film, television, child modeling, magazines and print without spending a lot of money

Broward
County - Hollywood . Fort Lauderdale .
Florida Perhaps it
was a scene from "Adaptation," the Nicolas Cage movie
version of "The Orchid Thief." Or maybe it was a shot from
the Oscar-winning film "The Hours," starring Nicole Kidman.
Or was it a recent Toyota commercial? Whatever the clip, you
might have found yourself saying, "Hey, that place looks
familiar!" And with
good reason. The film and television industry is
increasingly using Fort Lauderdale and Broward County - as
it does the rest of Florida - as a stage. Over $20 million
is spent annualy in Broward in film, television, commercials
and still photography and the estimated financial impact to
Broward County is over $400 million per year. Driving this
growth is a combination of factors. Broward offers a
diversity of locations, a resident crew base, and cities
with a film-friendly attitude combined with ideal weather
conditions that allow shooting on a year-round
basis. Another
advantage is Broward's proximity to Miami Beach and
Miami-Dade County. Movies that are principally produced in
Miami-Dade have a tendency to spill over into Broward.
Filming of "Out of Time" and "2Fast 2Furious" in Miami
included scenes shot in Broward and secondary filming for
TV's "CSI Miami" as well as "NipTuck" also take place in
Broward. For people who don't live on the coast or in that
environment, it has a different feel It's an exotic setting
- and that makes the area a unique place to
shoot. In the case
of smaller productions - music videos, for example, or
recent commercials for Wendy's and Ford Motor Company - the
entire shoot often takes place in Broward as one big
advantage of shooting in Broward County is cost. It's simply
cheaper to shoot in Broward and Wal-Mart, Blockbuster Video,
Office Depot, Toyota, and many other major corporations have
benefited. Heading the
list of 2006/2007 film projects that were shot in Broward
County is "My Sexiest Year" starring Harvey Kietel, Frankie
Muniz and Karolina Kurkova. Another high profile project,
"Dexter", Showtime's new television crime series, shot
scenes in Broward for its first season. Independent
features also found Broward to be a very accommodating place
to shoot their projects this year including Canvas and
Gringo Wedding. Chat, Valley of Tears, Twilight of Youth,
and The Life and Dreams of Raymond White were other
independent features that Broward welcomed. The South
Florida market has always been strong for television, film
and commercial shooting and there has been huge growth in
recent years, in part due to Spanish-language television
networks Telemundo and Univision.
Latin soap
operas or Telenovellas and reality television have created
filming niches that are very important to the economic
impact that filming brings to the county. In 2006 Broward
County hosted Telenovella location shoots for Univision's La
Voz del Amor and Alas de Gaviota. La Viuda de Blanco, El
Cuerpo del Deseo and Tierra de Pasiones all taped in the
town of Southwest Ranches for Telemundo. Reality
Television shows shot on location include: Miss Florida USA,
Big Spender, Bridezilla, Parent Coach, Cash in the Attic,
Mr. Food, MTV's Viva La Spring Break, The Facemakers, While
You Were Out, Parenting & Beyond, Extreme Makeover,
Cruise with Steios and Texas Swat and Shalom in the Home.
And we
haven't even mentioned all of the print modeling and catalog
shoots that go on in Broward County on a daily basis.
